Chris Paul addresses hand injury; hopeful he will play in ASG

Chris Paul opened up about the hand injury he sustained in the game vs the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.

Paul suffered the injury in the third quarter and had to leave the game. He also got ejected a few moments after the injury for complaining to the referees.

“It’ll be alright. I’m going to see. Even if it’s just to get out there and maybe throw a couple of assists,” the All-Star guard told reporters on Saturday. Chris Paul is a member of Team LeBron, which will face Team Durant on Sunday.

Phoenix star guard has been unstoppable this season. He is averaging 14.9 points, 10.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 58 games so far.

“Obviously we’re not going to [rush it]. I’m going to try to heal as fast as physically possible,” Paul added, via ESPN.

Paul has led the Suns to the top of the NBA, with the best record in the league (48-10). Phoenix is a few wins away from becoming the first team to clinch its spot in the postseason.

For his part, the veteran guard is seeking to claim his first NBA championship. Paul is a 12-time All-Star and a four-time All-NBA First Team member. He is also a seven-time All-Defensive Team member and a member of NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

Kevin Durant, James Harden and Draymond Green will miss the All-Star Game. All of them are dealing with injuries. LaMelo Ball, Jarrett Allen and Dejounte Murray will replace them in the game.
