Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant combine for 59 points to lead Nets to playoffs

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant helped the Brooklyn Nets rally past the Cleveland Cavaliers (108-115) and advance to the playoffs.

Irving went for 34 points, (12/15 shooting, 3/6 from beyond the arc) and 12 assists, while Durant added 25 points (9/16 shooting), 11 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks.

On the other hand, Darius Garland led five Cavs players in scoring with 34 points, on 13/24 shooting and 3/6 from beyond the arc.

The Nets led by 20 in the first quarter (20-40), but the Cavaliers came back and cut the deficit to five late in the game (104-109). Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, though, went 6/6 from the free-throw line to seal the deal.

Following their victory, the Nets claimed the 7th place in the standings and will now take on the Boston Celtics in the first round.

On the other hand, Cleveland will have a second chance to reach the postseason. They will take on the winner of the Atlanta Hawks vs Charlotte Hornets game. Whoever wins this game will finish 8th and will play the Miami Heat.
