Pelicans eliminate the Clippers; will take on the Suns in the playoffs

The New Orleans Pelicans endured the wild comeback of the Los Angeles Clippers and claimed the victory (105-101) to advance to the playoffs.

The Pelicans clinched the final playoff spot in the West and will now take on the top-seeded Phoenix Suns in the opening round. Game 1 will take place on Sunday in Phoenix. On the other hand, the Clippers got eliminated.

Brandon Ingram led four Pelicans players in double digits, with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Marcus Morris and Reggie Jackson combined for 54 points for the losing squad, scoring 27 each.

The hosts, who played without superstar guard/forward Paul George, came back from a 16-point deficit (45-29). Outscoring the visitors 18-38 in the third, they led by 13 early in the fourth (80-93).

Yet, New Orleans turned things around late in the fourth and closed the game on a 25-8 run to seal the deal.
