WNBA: Aces cruise past Atlanta; Mystics suffer first season loss

A’ja Wilson scored 15 points and the Las Vegas Aces rolled to a 96-73 victory over the Atlanta Dream. Wilson also had seven rebounds and five blocks to help the Aces improve to 3-1.

Kelsey Plum had 14 points and 11 assists, while Dearica Hamby also finished with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds for Aces. Aari McDonald scored 20 points for Atlanta (2-1), while rookie Rhyne Howard had 13 points.

Arike Ogunbowale scored 27 points and the Dallas Wings (1-1) overcame a 15-point second-quarter deficit to beat the Washington Mystics 94-86. Ogunbowale took over after the Wings fell behind 38-23 in the second quarter.

She scored 14 of her 18 first-quarter points in the last 2:33 minutes of the second quarter to pull Dallas to a 44-41 halftime deficit. Allisha Gray added 21 points for the winning side. Elena Delle Donne led Washington (3-1) with 20 points, and Ariel Atkins had 19.

In the final WNBA game of the night, Kelsey Mitchell scored 24 points and the Indiana Fever beat the New York Liberty 92-86 in overtime. Danielle Robinson scored eight of her 17 points in overtime to lead his team to victory.

NaLyssa Smith, the No. 2 pick in the draft, had 12 points and 16 rebounds for the Fever. They have won two straight since losing the first two games of the season. New York dropped to 1-2 for the season despite Sabrina Ionescu’s 31 points.
