WNBA: Dallas Wings grab first home win of the season

Marina Mabrey and Arike Ogunbowale combined for 42 points and powered Dallas Wings past Minnesota Lynx with 94-78. The Wings (4-2) trailed 45-43 at halftime, won for the fourth time in the last five games after starting the WNBA season 0-2.

Jessica Shepard, Sylvia Fowles and Kayla McBride all had 14 points to pace Minnesota (1-6). All five starters score in double-digits for Minnesota, but, the Wings outscored their opponents in bench points with a 27-12.

Thornton finished with 12 points to help Dallas grab its first home win. Satou Sabally had 11 points and five rebounds off the bench.

Kelsey Plum scored 24 points, and the Las Vegas Aces beat the Phoenix Mercury easily 100-80. Jackie Young added 20 for another great performance as the Aces outscored opponents 38-18 in the third quarter.

Plum sank three 3-pointers and scored 15 during the third quarter to help Las Vegas (6-1) turn a two-point halftime lead into an 82-60 advantage. Chelsea Gray finished with 13 points, five assists and four steals as the Aces improved to 4-0 at home.

Diamond DeShields topped Phoenix (2-4) with 19 points. Diana Taurisi added 14 points and seven assists for the Mercury. The Aces are now leading the league with the best record a half-game ahead of the Washington Mystics.
