Bonn forces Gm 5 with another road victory over Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich had two chances at home to close out the German BBL semifinal series, but Bonn was able to force Game 5 after beating the Bavarians 80-83. Parker Jackson-Cartwright scored a game-high 20 points, including a key three-pointer and  a steal.

Jackson-Cartwright hit a key three-pointer for the 77-83 with 1:41 remaining and stole the ball in the last play to secure his team’s win. Jeremy Morgan added 16 points and eight rebounds for Bonn.

Priot to Jackson-Cartwright’s three, Bonn made an 8-0 run midway in the fourth quarter to take a 78-70 lead. Bayern returned to the game and cut the lead with its own 7-2 run but the German BBL MVP hit the crucial three to put Bonn up six (77-83).

Bayern then closed the gap to 80-83 with a three-pointer and they had a chance for one last attempt, but Jackson-Cartwright stole the ball and secured the victory for the top-seeded Telecom Baskets Bonn.

Bayern, who will have to win away from home for the third time in the series, Nick Weiler-Babb had 16 points, Vladimir Lucic dropped 13 points and Augustine Rubit posted 13 points plus eight rebounds.
