Draymond Green scoffs at idea he gives away Warriors Xs and Os in podcast

Draymond Green was away from his usual self in the Warriors’ Gm 3 loss to the Boston Celtics. He got testy when one media member asked him after the game whether the Warriors forward may have been revealing vital information about the team’s plan.

“I don’t see much difference on the Podcast than I say to you right here, so nah. What’s the X’s and O’s that I said on the Podcast?,” Green said, talking about giving away Golden State’s adjustments.

The reporter responded, claiming the Warriors’ forward talked about how to cover Derrick White, Marcus Smart and Al Horford differently between Games 1 and 2. The Warriors’ forward was clearly being annoyed by the question.

“That’s just contesting shots. If that’s X’s and O’s, you’re reaching for something. It’s all good, though, keep going.

The only thing, you find that they are taking X’s and O’s away from your Podcast? Well, the only thing you said is White, Smart and Horford,” Green continued.

Golden State’s defensive leader wasn’t thrilled about the line of questioning, then went on to call the reporter by name when answering a different question. He struggled in Game 3, where he put up just two points, four rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes.

“You went for it,” Green said. “Appreciate the podcast promo you just gave me, though. The Draymond Green Show. Next time just mention it that way.”
