Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka spoke on Robert Williams injury that occurred during Friday’s Game 4 loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Cs’ coach said he’s optimistic Williams will be available to play in crucial Gm 5.

It’s been nice for Boston having Robert Williams back, however, he did pull himself out of Game 4 early with concern regarding his knee. There were fears that the Celtics’ big will miss Game 5 after leaving the game during the closing minutes of Gm 4.

The Celtics are unsure as to when he hurt his knee in Game 4, but it appears it might have been in the closing minutes of the contest, per Jared Weiss. As Udoka said, Boston will allow Williams test his knee before making him available in Monday’s contest.

“He did not do a specific thing, so he doesn’t know when it happened. He just sprinted up and down one time after one possession and it was bothering him a little bit, and that’s why he asked to come out,” Udoka said.

“So not that specific incident. We watched the film and nothing stood out,” Udoka continued. “Obviously led to the blow-by with Curry where he couldn’t move great on that possession.”

The Celtics’ head coach said Williams will probably be available for Game 5 as he’s already feeling better.

“But doing better, the day off, the rest, equaled with today and tomorrow, optimistic he’ll be good to go. But we’ll test it before the game as usual,” he said.
