Several rumors suggested CSKA Moscow star Nikola Milutinov is attracting interest from various EuroLeague clubs, but his agent claimed all those rumors are false and the Serbian star has one more season in his deal.
Milutinov has been linked to Olympiacos and to Virtus Segafredo Bologna and Fenerbahce. However, his agent Giorgos Panou – in a statement on championat.com – emphasized that there’s no truth in those reports (h/t Eurohoops).
“Nikola has a contract with CSKA for one more year,” Panou clarified. “So, the news about Olympiacos, Virtus and Fenerbahce as well, are false,” Panou concluded.
The Serbian center played for Olympiacos for five seasons before moving to CSKA Moscow in 2020. He averaged 7.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.4 blocks and 0.4 steals per contest before his side was withdrawn from the 2021-22 EuroLeague season.
The team based in Moscow is considered doubtful to play in the 2022-23 season of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague due to Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. EuroLeague withdrew the Russian teams the past March and several players opted to leave the clubs.
Tornike Shengelia and Daniel Hackett joined Virtus Bologna mid-season, while other players followed, leaving the teams due to safety concerns. Milutinov is among the few players that opt to finish season in Russia after March.
For his part, Shengelia is expected to re-sign with the Italians, as he has agreed to a new, two-year deal, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. However, the official announcement will be made after the end of the Italian League Finals vs Armani Milano.
