Armani Milano is interested in signing big man Johannes Voigtmann, yet the Italian club paused the talks with the German forward/center.
This is what the Italian newspaper Repubblica Bologna writes, via Gazzetta.gr. Voigtmann hasn’t officially parted ways with CSKA Moscow yet and is still under contract until 2023.
However, the German big man hasn’t played since late February, as he left the team after Russia’s invasion to Ukraine. In 20 EuroLeague games with the Muscovites, he averaged 8.5 points and 4 rebounds.
Based on the report, the talks between the two sides will continue once Johannes Voigtmann becomes a free agent. In the meantime, Armani Milano will search the market for another big man.
Armani Milano is currently playing Virtus Bologna in the Italian League Finals. After Game 3 of the best-of-seven series, Ettore Messina’s team leads 2-1.
In other rumors from LBA, AS Monaco Basket big Donatas Motiejunas has attracted interest from Virtus Bologna, per Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport. Motiejunas will be a free agent this summer as his one-year deal with Monaco comes to an end.
Motiejunas registered 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists in last season’s EuroLeague, where Monaco made the postseason for the first time in the history of the club. Basketnews.com reports the EuroLeague side wants to keep Motiejunas for another season.
