Steve Kerr had nothing but good words to say about Draymond Green ahead of Game 5 vs the Boston Celtics.

The head coach of the Golden State Warriors praised the star forward for his defensive contribution in Game 4 win (107-97).

“Nope. Draymond is Draymond. He’s going to bring it every night. I think the thing that maybe got lost the other night is how good he was down the stretch.

He ends up in the game with four steals. He was brilliant defensively. He did what we needed to do to win the game. Everybody is locked in on his scoring. Scoring has always been kind of the last thing that we need from him.

We need his defense, his energy, his force, his competitiveness. Down the stretch of the game, he made huge plays at both ends,” Kerr told media, including Hedgeout.net, after Sunday’s practice.

Draymond Green scored just two points in Game 4, on 1/7 shooting. However, he finished the game with 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals.

The All-Star forward saw the majority of the fourth quarter from the bench and admitted he wasn’t thrilled because he is a competitive player. However, he made it clear he respects his coach’s decision.

In Game 5, the Warriors expect Draymond Green to be solid defensively once again and the more he scores on offense, the better for Golden State.
