ALBA prevails over Bayern to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the German BBL finals

Jaleen Smith scored 13, Maodo Lo added 13 more and ALBA Berlin beat Bayern Munich 58-71 to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the German BBL finals. Only DeShaun Thomas (13 points) finished in double figures from Bayern.

After a close-fought battle in the first quarter, the visitors took a 38-26 lead at the end of the first half. ALBA retained a double-digit advantage that often flirted with the 20-point margin, while Bayern was unable to score.

Despite all the efforts Bayern showed during the last quarter, Maodo Lo and Jaleen Smith added a layup and a three-pointer, which led to a solid 10-point lead (56-66) in the last minute of the game.

Game 3 is scheduled on 17 June in Berlin. ALBA need one more win to finish the job having the next game at home. On the other side, Bayern goes to a “win or go home” game and need three consecutive victories to steal the title.
