Baskonia has parted ways with veteran guard Jayson Granger, the club announced Tuesday. The guard finished his second stint with club earning 171 appearances in his career with the EuroLeague side.
The guard joined the team last summer after a stint with German powerhouse ALBA Berlin. In this past season, Granger has averaged 7.3 points, 3.9 assists and 8.0 PIR in the EuroLeague being the starting guard of the Spanish team.
He put up 8.8 points, 3.6 assists and 10.0 PIR in the ACB, where the Baskonia made the postseason and eliminated in the semifinals vs the EuroLeague champions Real Madrid. Granger has also played for Efes, Estudiantes and Malaga before joining the Basques.
“I want to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to be the captain and wear their shirt for four seasons. I will always be grateful to the fans for the support they have shown me and Baskonia will always be my home.
I wish the club and all of Baskonia the best of luck in the future,” the veteran guard concluded upon his departure. The EuroLeague side has already made a coaching change, hiring Joan Penarroya as the head coach.
