Stephen Curry had an off night in Game 5 of the NBA Finals series between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. Curry went for 0-of-9 from three, but the rest of the Warriors step up to lead the team to victory.

Curry finished with 16 points and eight assists watching his 132-game streak of at least one made three-pointer in the postseason coming to an end. Curry had a majestic 43-point game in the previous contest for the Warriors.

“I mean, of course it bothers me as a shooter. You want to impact the game that way. But thankfully that’s not the only thing that you do out there on the court,” Curry claimed on a question about his shooting Monday night.

The Warriors can win their fourth title in eight years when the series resumes in Boston on Thursday night. If the Celtics can win at home, the series will return to the Bay Area for a winner-take-all Game 7 on Sunday.

“Obviously, track record says I shoot the ball better the next game. Looking forward to that bounce-back,” Curry said.

Draymond Green said Curry is going to be livid in Game 6 after his rough shooting night and that’s a good thing for Golden State. The Warriors shot 9-of-40 from beyond the arc as a team Monday night.

“The fact everybody stepped up — Wiggs, JP, Klay hit some big shots, Draymond found his life and his spirit and the way he impacts the game. We could withstand going 9-for-40 as a team and me 0-for-9, and still come away with a win,” the Warriors star guard stated.

The Celtics were more aggressive in the pick and roll, getting more in the face of Curry when he was shooting the ball. However, the Warriors’ game opened up and Wiggins and Thompson combined for 47 points, while Poole and Payton contributed 29 from the bench.

“Even for the best shooter in the world, you know, games like this happen. And fortunately they don’t happen too often. I like Steph coming off of a game like this, too. I like his ability to bounce back,” Kerr said on Curry’s shooting struggles.

Game 6 of the Finals is on Thurday in TD Garden, Boston.
