Efes signs veteran center Bryant Dunston to a contract extension

Bryant Dunston will remain with Anadolu Efes for one more year, after signing a contract extension, the club announced. The big man was on an expiring deal this summer after helping the Turkish giants win their second consecutive EuroLeague.

Dunston will extend his stay in Istanbul for the 8th season of his career being one of the building blocks of Efes’ successful EuroLeague and domestic league run the last five years.

The veteran center, who played for Olympiacos before moving to Turkey, won two EuroLeague titles in his tenure with Efes and was named the Defender of the Year in the EuroLeague twice.

The 36-year-old veteran has been the captain of the team for the past several years. He’s the all-time leader in blocks in the top flight European basketball competition and one of the best defenders who appeared in the league.

The Turkish club has already kept Shane Larkin in the roster, while Ataman and co. hope to do the same with fellow building block Vasilije Micic, who has already attracted interest from various NBA teams.

The EuroLeague back-to-back champions also added the 2019 EuroLeague Final-4 MVP Will Clyburn at the start of the offseason.
