Rockets trading Christian Wood to Mavs

The Houston Rockets are trading big man Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks for four players and one draft pick.

This is what Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and Shams Charania of The Athletic report, noting that the two teams are finalizing the deal.

As part of the trade, the Rockets will receive Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, Marquese Chriss and the No. 26 pick. In exchange, they will send Wood to the Mavericks.

Christian Wood spent the previous two seasons with Houston and evolved into one of the best big men in the league. He averaged 17.9 points, on 50% shooting, 10.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 68 games last season.

Dallas will be the seventh team in seven NBA seasons for the 26-year-old center, after stints in Philadelphia, Charlotte, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Detroit and Houston. He is now entering the final season of a three-year, $41M contract.
