Olympiacos sweeps series vs Panathinaikos to win Greek League title

Olympiacos swept the Greek League Finals vs rivals Panathinaikos (3-0) and won the championship for the first time since 2016.

The “Reds” protected their home court once again (93-74) and earned their third straight win over the “Greens”, closing out the series (3-0).

Olympiacos used a 23-5 run late in the second quarter and led by 15 at halftime (55-40). Panathinaikos came as close as 10 points (66-56), but the hosts responded with a 7-0 run and went on to win the game.

This was the seventh straight victory for the “Reds” over the “Greens” in all competition (7-1). The hosts ended the season in the best way possible, winning all domestic titles.

The game was also the last in the career of the legendary captain of the “Reds”, Giorgos Printezis, who retired after lifting the trophy.

Sasha Vezenkov led the winners in scoring with 25 points, on 4/5 from beyond the arc. On the contrary, Nemanja Nedovic had 23 points for the losing squad.
