ALBA Berlin dominated throughout the game and went to crush Bayern Munich 81-96 to win the third German BBL title in the row and the 11th overall. Jaleen Smith scored 23 points including 8 in the fourth quarter for the winning side.

ALBA started the game strong and took a 39-20 lead in the second quarter. Bayern tried to mount a comeback but the German champions kept their composure to cruise to victory and make their sixth double in the history of the Berliners.

The visitors shot 14 of 27 from beyond the arc, while team leading scorer Smith put up six of his seven three-point attempts. Johannes Thiemann and Tamir Blatt combined for 29 more points in wrapping up the best-of-five series to conclude the Playoffs in Germany.

Bayern, who played without several key players, could not keep its pace after winning away from home the previous games. Augustine Rubit was the leading scorer for Andrea Trinchieri’s group with 15 points.

The Bavarians played without Corey Walden, Vladimir Lucic, Darrun Hilliard, and Leon Radosevic. ALBA bounced back from a one-sided defeat in Game 3.
