Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially reached an agreement with Oded Kattash for two seasons. Kattash is reunited with Maccabi for the first time since 2007-08, early in his coaching career.
The veteran coach spent part of the 2021-22 season with Panathinaikos and parted ways with the “Greens” last June. Besides Maccabi and Panathinaikos, Kattash has also coached the Israeli national team between 2017 and 2021.
He also spent time with several Israeli clubs like Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Eilat, and Hapoel Gilboa Galil. With the latter, he was named Israeli champion back in 2010.
From 2018 to 2021, Kattash worked in Hapoel Jerusalem and lifted the Israeli Cup twice (2019, 2020). Last season, he led Panathinaikos to Greek Cup and Greek League titles in his first experience coaching outside Israel.
“It feels good, it’s exciting. I’m very happy and looking forward to the challenge,” Oded Katash said after his signing. “In the end, in the situation that has arisen, it is very challenging and I am waiting for it.”
