WNBA: Aces erase 14-point deficit to defeat Lynx

A’ja Wilson scored 25 points and the Aces rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat the Lynx 96-95. Kayla McBride hit a 3-pointer and Jessica Shepard scored four point in a 7-2 that trimmed the deficit to 93-91.

However, Dearica Hamby had a wide-open three after Chelsea Gray shook a reaching McBride with a behind-the-back move to get into the lane and kicked iy back out with Hamby hitting the dagger and putting Aces up 96-91.

Dearica Hamby finished with 16 points for the Aces, while the Minnesota Lynx (3-13) tried to return with a 5-0 run in the last 15.5 seconds of the game, but the Aces (13-2) remained composed to earn the victory.

NaLyssa Smith scored a career-high 26 points and the Indiana Fever erased a 15-point second-half deficit and beat the Chicago Sky 89-87 on Sunday. Smith, the No. 2 overall selection in April’s draft, was 11-of-17 shooting and had 11 rebounds.

Smith hit a big three-point play in the closing seconds for the Fever to put her team ahead 88-87 with 39 seconds remaining. Chicago missed two shots on the other end before Victoria Vivians made one of her two free throws to extend Indiana’s lead.

In the following play, Courtney Vandersloot missed a short baseline jumper and the Fever held on to the win. Kahleah Copper finished with a career-high 28 points for the Sky (10-5). Chicago’s Candace Parker missed her second consecutive game due to a knee injury.

Arike Ogunbowale hit five 3-pointers and finished with 27 points and the Dallas Wings defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 92-82 Sunday night. The Wings used a dominant third-quarter to run away with the win.

Allisha Gray had 20 points and a season-high 12 rebounds for the Wings. Kayla Thornton added 15 points for Dallas (8-8). The Wings have won back-to-back games after losing four in a row and six of the last seven.

Nneka Ogwumike led Los Angeles (5-9) with 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting and 10 rebounds. Chiney Ogwumike added 12 and Brittney Sykes scored 16 points. The Sparks (5-9) have lost three in the row.
