Giorgos Bartzokas was one of the biggest factors in Olympiacos Pireaus’ great season, which ended up with winning the Greek League title and playing in the EuroLeague Final Four. Bartzokas renewed his contract with the Reds for three years, the team announced.

After winning both the Greek league and the Greek Cup title, in addition to leading Olympiacos to the EuroLeague Final Four, the experienced coach was expected to sign a new deal with the club.

Bartzokas returned to Olympiacos in 2020 for his second stint with the team after the one between the 2012 and 2014. During their first stint together, the Greek coach led the team to a back-to-back EuroLeague title in London.

Bartzokas became the first Greek head coach to win the EuroLeague. He also led the team to its first domestic league title since 2016. Bartokas has three appearances in the EuroLeague Final-4 with two of them coming with the Greek giants.

He also has one with Lokomotiv Kuban six years ago. Bartzokas started his career in Olympia Larisas as a coach before making the jump to Maroussi with which he had his first experience in the EuroLeague as a coach.

He also had stints with Khimki and FC Barcelona before returning to Olympiacos in 2020 and leading the team to success again.
