Greece NT announces 24-man roster ahead of FIBA World Cup window

The Greece NT announced the team’s roster ahead of the preliminary round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Head coach Dimitris Itoudis named 24 players ahead of the game against Great Britain on June 30.

Among the invites stand the names of Olympiacos Piraeus guard Tyler Dorsey, NBA impending free agent Giorgos Kalaitzakis and his twin brother Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, who is coming off a upstanding campaign with Lietkabelis.

Greece will host Great Britain on 30 June in Larisa in the last of its fixtures in Group B. Carrying the results of the ongoing round, it will be placed in Group I of the next round. Giannis and Thanasis Antetokoumpo are expected to join the team in August.

The team guided by Fener’s new head coach Itoudis will begin the next round in late August, before the 2022 EuroBasket. In the EuroBasket, Greece NT will meet Croatia, host Italy, Great Britain, Ukraine, and Estonia between early September.

The 2022 EuroBasket will take place between 1 and 18 September, and the FIBA Basketball World Cup will take place next summer.
