Serbia NT announces 20-man squad headlined by Nemanja Bljelica

Serbia has announced the initial 20-player squad ahead for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers. Nemanja Bjelica is back in the fold with the national team after winning the NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors.

Milos Teodosic returns to Svetislav Pesic’s squad after the opening window to add experience and playmaking as the Serbian national team hopes to continue momentum in Group A of the qualification round.

Boban Marjanovic is also in the roster after completing the season with the Dallas Mavericks playing alongside other European stars like Maxi Kleber and Luka Doncic. Serbia have already qualified for the Second Round and take on Latvia in Riga on June 27.

It will be followed by a game vs. Belgium three days later, in Nis. Carrying results from Group A, Serbia will be placed in Group I in the second round. The top three teams of the new six-team group will punch in a ticket for the 2023 World Cup.

The second round of the qualification round will take place in August.
