Barcelona is working towards terminating the contract of star guard Nick Calathes and has already informed him about its intentions.
The Greek guard is under contract with the Catalans, therefore the two sides should work on a buyout that will let Calathes become a free agent.
Calathes is expected to attract interest from several EuroLeague teams, including Fenerbahce, Panathinaikos and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
Last season, he averaged 7.3 points, 6.4 assists and four rebounds in the EuroLeague, where Barcelona reached the Final Four, but couldn’t win the title. In Liga Endesa, the Catalans lost to Real Madrid in the ACB Finals (3-1).
Barcelona seems to have already found the replacement of Calathes and is expected to sign former NBA player Tomas Satoransky.
