Sixers attempt to land Eric Gordon via 3-team trade

The Philadelphia 76ers aim to bolster their roster and want to acquire veteran guard Eric Gordon via a 3-team trade. To land Gordon, the Sixers will need to get a third team to participate, which could be the Portland Trail Blazers.

Philadelphia is willing to send guard/forward Matisse Thybulle to the Blazers in order to get Eric Gordon from the Houston Rockets.

Philadelphia GM Daryl Morey is a big fan of the 33-year-old guard as they both were members of the Rockets team that was fighting for the title under James Harden.

Aside from Gordon, the Sixers have been linked to PJ Tucker and expect Harden to pick up his player option ($47.4M) and sign an extension.

For its part, Houston still is in a rebuild mode and seeks to trade both Eric Gordon and star guard John Wall. Gordon averaged 13.4 points, 2.7 assists, and two rebounds last season, on 47.5% from the field and 41.2% from beyond the arc.

Last but not least, the Blazers want to become playoff contenders with Damian Lillard back healthy and bolstered their roster by trading for all-around forward Jerami Grant.
