Barcelona aims to re-sign head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius and has made him a contract extension offer. This is what Mundo Deportivo reports, stating that the Lithuanian coach has initially declined the offer.

According to the report, the Catalans want to keep Jasikevicius long term, but with a reduced salary, as the club aims to make a budget reduction as well. The Lithuanian coach is entering the final year of his contract.

Jasikevicius received heavy criticism from Barcelona fans after failing to win the EuroLeague and ACB, despite having the best record in the regular season in both competitions. The “Blaugrana” claimed only the Spanish Cup back in February.

The Club has already parted ways with Brandon Davies, Rolands Smits and Nigel Hayes-Davis, while the same is expected to happen with star guard Nick Calathes. At the same time, they are expected to sign Tomas Satoransky and Jan Vesely.
