PJ Tucker expected to join Sixers once free agency opens

PJ Tucker is expected to join the Philadelphia 76ers once free agency opens on June 30. This is what Marc Stein of Substack reports, adding that the deal between the two sides will be for three years, worth $30M.

“If Pat Riley’s Heat can find a way now to re-sign Tucker, they will definitely surprise some people. It seems increasingly safe, then, to at least pencil in a Harden/Tucker reunion,” Stein reports.

Once PJ Tucker decided to opt out of his player option and hit free agency, the Sixers emerged as frontrunners to sign him if he didn’t return to the Miami Heat. And this is what is going to happen.

Tucker was one of Miami’s key players last season, helping the franchise reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in the last three years.

The veteran forward played 71 regular season games with Miami last season and was a starter in 70 of them. He averaged 7.6 points, on 48.4% shooting.
