NBA rumors: Hawks-Spurs close to a deal involving Dejounte Murray

The Atlanta Hawks and the San Antonio Spurs have been in talks about a trade involving Dejounte Murray. Atlanta aims to bolster its roster and views San Antonio’s All-Star guard as a great option.

As part of the deal, the Spurs are expected to receive Danilo Gallinari and multiple 1st-round picks. This is what Zach Klein of WSB reports, noting that Atlanta is on the verge of completing the trade.

It is interesting to see that John Collins is not part of the trade, even if the franchise is not inclined to keep him in the roster.

For his part, Dejounte Murray was San Antonio’s top player last season, averaging 21.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists in 68 regular season games.

The young guard helped the Spurs reach the play-in tournament as well. Murray has two years and $34.2M left on his current contract with San Antonio.
