Russell Westbrook to exercise player option with Lakers

Russell Westbrook plans to exercise his player option, worth $47.1M, and remain with the Los Angeles Lakers for another season.

This is what Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports, adding that Westbrook’s agent, Thad Foucher, is planning to file the paperwork by the end of the day.

Russell Westbrook is entering the final year of the five-year, $206M contract he signed back in 2018. The Lakers expect Westbrook to play at an elite level next season and help the franchise return to titel contention.
