Sasha Vezenkon might have his chance in the NBA soon. Olympiacos star forward Sasha Vezenkov addressed the recent acquisition of his NBA rights by the Sacramento Kings, who acquired his draft rights in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“My rights are already in a team that really sees something positive in me and something that might make them make an offer to me,” Vezenkov told NOVA via BG Basket.
The Kings GM Monte McNair said he sees the EuroLeague star as a great fit with the team going forward. However, he did not commit to say if Sacremanto would like to bring him over this offseason.
“I think Sasha’s a guy we see fitting with us. We all know how important that is in the league. We’re excited about the fit, and we will talk further and see what will happen. We know that he can play at the high level and that excites us”.
Vezenkov had a breakout year in the EuroLeague regular season appearing in the Final-Four with averages of 13.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He helped Olympiacos reached the final stage of the competition, being a pivotal member of the team.
He was also named a member of the All-EuroLeague team and has steadily been one of the best forwards in the Old Continent the last two seasons. Before he emerged as an elite EuroLeague player with Olympiacos, Vezenkov spent three years with Barcelona.
For now, the youngest Greek League MVP, is focused on playing with Bulgaria NT in the last window of the FIBA qualifiers. On July 1, Bulgaria hosts Lithuania, and three days later they will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
