The Sixers are still engaging in trade talks with the Houston Rockets about veteran shooter Eric Gordon, per multiple reports. A third team might be needed for the Philadelphia 76ers to complete the trade.

Matisse Thybulle is expected to be part of the deal, while the Rockets need a future first-round draft asset to condone the trade. That’s where a third team could be involved as the Sixers have limited future draft assets.

Because of the NBA’s Stepien rule, the 76ers are not allowed to trade a first-round pick until 2029. Moreover, they also need to match salaries to absorb Gordon’s contract in a trade, since the Sixers are well above the NBA’s salary cap.

The Rockets may have on a rebuilding state, but obviously, they see the value Gordon provides as a veteran in a young team. The Sixers might need to pay a relatively steep price for the veteran 3&D wing.

Lakers want Seth Curry included in Kyrie Irving-Russell Westbrook deal

The Los Angeles Lakers has already engaged in trade talks with the Nets as the NY franchise is expected soon to be involved in two blockbuster trades with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving wanting out from Brooklyn.

According to the latest reports, the Lakers are the only team so far actively trying to trade for Kyrie Irving. Per Chris Haynes, the Nets want the Lakers to take on the contract of sharpshooter Joe Harris, who is coming off ankle surgery.

On the other side, the Lakers are willing to accommodate the trade if Seth Curry is to be included. Harris has two years remaining in his current, which he signed two years ago with a worth of $75M.

Seth Curry on the other side has one year remaining on his current deal. Curry’s price tag, $8.4 million for the 2022-23 season, is considerably more palatable than Harris’ contract. Harris will receive more than $49 million the next two seasons.
