Croatia gets eliminated from the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup

Croatia has officially got eliminated from the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup after the end of the first round of the Qualifiers.

In a must-win game that was decided in the final seconds, the Croatians lost to Finland at home (79-81) and finished fourth in Group C.

Lauri Markkanen gave his team the lead with six second to go (79-81). Bogdan Bogdanovic missed the game-winning three-pointer, then Ivica Zubac missed the game-tying free throws at the buzzer and Croatia suffered a painful loss.

Following its loss, Croatia dropped to 1-5, whereas Finland claimed the first place with a 5-1 record. Slovenia (4-2) and Sweden (2-4) finished second and third, respectively.

Slovakia (0-6) vs Latvia (5-1): 60-93

Group B

Great Britain (1-3) vs Turkey (2-2): 71-85

Group C

Croatia (1-5) vs Finland (5-1): 79-81

Sweden (2-4) vs Slovenia (4-2): 81-84

Group D

Germany (5-1) vs Poland (2-4): 93-83

Israel (3-3) vs Estonia (2-4): 96-77
