LeBron James wants to play with Kyrie Irving again and believes this could happen in the Los Angeles Lakers. This is what Marc Stein of Substack reports, as the Lakers and the Nets reportedly are in talks for the All-Star guard.

“LeBron James wants to see Irving in Lakerland more than anyone. A widespread expectation [is] that Irving is destined to end up with the Lakers,” Stein reports.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the deal between the two sides is centered around Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook. In addition, the Lakers want to land Seth Curry too, while Brooklyn wants to include Joe Harris in the package instead.

For his part, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN mentioned that the Lakers are yet to be aggressive, although they remain Irving’s best suitor at the moment.

“The Lakers have yet, I’m told, to be aggressive in trying to put a deal together to get [Kyrie] from Brooklyn. That may come, that may evolve with time.

But so far right now, there’s no traction really on deals with either Irving or Durant,” Wojnarowski said, via Clutchpoints.

It seems the Lakers don’t have a sense of urgency in their talks with the Nets. If the deal becomes official, though, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving will reunite for the first time since 2016, when they led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA championship.
