Blazers’ owner says team is not for sale

Portland Trail Blazers owner, Jody Allen, denied any reports suggesting the team will change hands soon. Via an official statement, Allen made it clear that the team is not for sale, at least for the time being.

Back in June, reports had emerged stating that Nike founder Phil Knight had teamed up with Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Alan Smolinisky to make a $2B offer to purchase the franchise.

It seems that sooner or later Portland will be under a new ownership. For the time being, though, the team is getting ready for the next season, aiming to return to title contention.

So far, they have landed Jerami Grant and Gary Payton II and have re-signed Anfernee Simmons and Jusuf Nurkic. Meanwhile, Damian Lillard is expected to receive a two-year, $100M contract extension offer soon.
