A Kevin Durant trade could take several months to get done; 4 teams emerge as frontrunners

Kevin Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, but it could take several months before the deal is official.

This is what Shams Charania of The Athletic reports, adding that Nets’ trade demands make it difficult for teams to facilitate a deal quickly.

“All conversations are open for teams to call, reach out, submit offers. Teams like Suns, Heat, Raptors, Warriors. Those are among the teams that are gonna be at the forefront trying to pursue a Kevin Durant deal.

But given the asking price that has already been set forth, this is a process that could take several weeks, could take several months, could take the remainder of this offseason,” Charania said, via Clutchpoints.

The Nets have already made their demands clear and want an All-Star player, a Rising Star and multiple first-round picks to agree to a deal.

So far, four teams (Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns) have emerged as frontrunners to sign Kevin Durant, who has four years and $194.2M left on his contract.
