The Toronto Raptors are not willing to include Scottie Barnes in a trade package to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant.
This is what Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report writes, adding that the franchise wants to keep the Rookie of the Year long-term.
“The Raptors are the most obvious team fitting that description. For the team to land [Deandre] Ayton, the Raptors would need to sacrifice valuable players or picks in a sign-and-trade that could be used for Durant instead.
Of important note regarding Toronto: Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation say the franchise is unwilling to part with reigning Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes,” Fischer wrote.
Barnes was one of the top Toronto players last season, averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest in 74 games. He helped the franchise finish fifth in the East and reach the playoffs.
