The Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets are discussing a Kyrie Irving trade, however it is likely they will need a third team to get the deal done.

That team could be the San Antonio Spurs and the two franchises have discussed the possibility of pulling the five-time NBA champions into the deal.

“The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers have held preliminary discussions on a Kyrie Irving trade, and sources indicate the teams are exploring the potential of pulling the San Antonio Spurs into a multi-team deal,” Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report writes.

The deal between the two sides will be centered around Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving. However, the Nets will certainly ask for more assets and the 17-time NBA champions may not be in a position to give them.

The addition of San Antonio to the deal, though, could be a win-win situation for all sides and could help the Lakers land Irving sooner rather than later.
