The Los Angeles Lakers are involved heavily in talks about Kyrie Irving, according to the latest reports, and while a deal is not imminent, the team tries to remain focus on the current plan of the team.
“We love everyone on our roster,” Ham told reporters Friday at halftime of L.A.’s 104-84 summer league loss to the Phoenix Suns on Friday. “And until you’re not on our roster, you’re ours and we’re going to try to get better with the group that we have.
That’s just the bottom line of it.”
The Lakers’ Summer League squad lost to the Suns, but the attention of the fans was off the court with Westbrook and James being in the sidelines in completely different places of the stands, per ESPN’s
“This is a funny time of year,” Ham said. “AD has a newborn on the way. These guys have busy schedules. They’re busy guys. Russ is doing his fashion thing. LeBron has a zillion things going on. Absolutely, we’ve been lockstep in communication.
But it’s hard when guys have business outside of basketball.”
The Lakers became markedly younger this offseason signing several players to fill their roster. Some of those player competed in the game vs Suns last night. Scottie Pippen Jr. was once again the leading scorer for the LA franchise with 19 points.
