Sasha Vezenkov talked about the possibility of staying with Olympiacos for another season and not moving to the NBA.
The “Reds” star forward has attracted significant interest from the Sacramento Kings, who are expected to make him an offer.
Speaking with TV channel Cosmote TV, though, Vezenkov hinted at staying with Olympiacos and not joining the Kings.
“For sure, the way we finished the season was very beautiful. But we’ve left that behind and we are preparing for the next season,” Vezenkov said, via Eurohoops.net.
Sasha Vezenkov is under contract with Olympiacos until 2024 and has an NBA buyout of $750K, which expires on July 20. If he remains with the Greek giants, he is expected to sign a contract extension soon.
Vezenkov was an MVP candidate in the EuroLeague and averaged 13.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 38 games, helping the “Reds” reach the Final Four for the first time since 2017.
