Alec Peters officially joins Olympiacos

After leaving Baskonia, forward Alec Peters signed a two-year deal with Olympiacos. The club made the offseason move known via an official statement. The Greek team bolstered its frontline with the signing of the veteran power forward.

This will be the fourth EuroLeague team for the veteran forward after Baskonia, CSKA Moscow and Anadolu Efes. Peters spent the last two seasons with Basques averaging 9.8 points on 39.0% three-point shooting and 3.8 rebounds over 12 games.

He had struggled with injuries that kept him for most of the 2021-22 campaign the past season. Peters made his EuroLeague debut with CSKA Moscow in 2018 and helped his team won the VTB League the same year.

He played college basketball at Valparaiso University and made his professional debut with Phoenix in the NBA. He had a short stint in G League before coming over to Europe during the 2018-19 season.

Last season he also competed in ACB averaging 10.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 13.4 PIR per 25.6 minutes in 23 appearances. Peters is expected to offer depth and shooting in Olympiacos’ front line.

The Reds reached the EuroLeague Final-4 last season after being a Top-5 seed in the regular season and beating AS Monaco Basket in the playoffs. Peters is the third signing of the offseason after Joel Bolomboy and Isaiah Canaan.
