Paolo Banchero shines vs Keegan Murray in Magic OT victory

Paolo Banchero might be getting off the Summer League squad soon after another great performance against the top talent of the 2022 NBA draft. Banchero delivered big moments in the Magic’s double-OT thriller against the Kings and No.4 overall pick Keegan Murray.

He scored 23 points, six assists, six rebounds as well as four steals … and dished out the game-winning assist for the Orlando Magic. At this point, the rookie is playing his way out of the Las Vegas Summer League proving to be the most NBA-ready player.

He did have eight turnovers but, with Orlando having many point guards in Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs and Cole Anthony, he won’t need to worry about handling the ball much. Murray on the other side made a big basket and showed his qualities once again.

Murray was a bit inefficient against the Magic with five turnovers and only five made baskets. But his shot-making and his ability to getting at his spots was evident. He finished the game with 20 points and forced the overtime in the last seconds of the game.

The Kings, who had trouble to close out their games last season, might found a closer in Murray. On the opposite side, Banchero will likely be an asset for the Orlando Magic offense since Day 1, while he showed he can put forth the effort in the defensive end.
