Roman Sorkin remains with Maccabi for one more season

Maccabi Tel Aviv announced Roman Sorkin will remain with the team for the next season. Sorkin signed with Maccabi last summer. He averaged 2.3 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.5 PIR over 28 EuroLeague games.

The 25-year-old is one of the few players that survive a massive overhaul in the Israeli powerhouse’s roster. Coming from University of Oregon, Sorkin started his journey in Israel during the 2018-2019 season and played for Haifa.

He stayed in Haifa for one year before making it to the roster of the EuroLeague powerhouse last summer. Before arriving in Tel Aviv, Sorkin registered 13.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over 29 minutes in the Israeli Basketball Winner League.

As of now, the Israeli powerhouse signed 10 players re-purposing their roster in hope of returning to the EuroLeague Final-4. The team had a great finish in the EuroLeague regular season and made the playoffs last season, but they disappointingly lost to Real Madrid (3-0).
