Luka Doncic says he focuses on winning the championship, not MVP award

Luka Doncic was pretty clear on his NBA goals moving forward. The superstar of the Dallas Mavericks said his focus is on winning the NBA championship, not MVP awards.

“Well, that’s the goal that every player who comes to the NBA has (winning championships). Not everyone can say that he’s the NBA MVP. Of course, I don’t trade a ring for it, but if I can win the MVP, it’d be amazing.

The subject of records is not something that obsesses or attracts me. What I seek is to win,” Doncic said in an interview with Marca from Paris, France.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals last season for the first time since 2011. He averaged 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 8.7 assists with Dallas. Doncic has five years and $215,1M left on his current contract with the franchise.
