ASVEL adds former Florida State alumni Anthony Polite

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne added another new face in its roster by signing former Florida State product Anthony Polite to a two-year deal, the club announced Wednesday. The Swiss forward will gain his first European experience with the French club.

He last played for Florida State, with averages of 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 24 games during the 2021-22 season. He will become the fifth signing of the offseason for the French league champions.

“It’s a gamble we believe in. Anthony has a lot to prove, and he wants to demonstrate his abilities at the highest level,” said Michel Veyronnet, sporting director of ASVEL.

“He will make up for his lack of experience in the European game with his energy, his commitment, and his determination. And we are convinced that he will be the perfect complement to David Lighty.”
