EuroLeague rumors: Fenerbahce close to a deal with Nigel Hayes-Davis

Fenerbahce is close to a deal with forward Nigel Hayes-Davis, Eurohoops reports. Davis spent the past seasons with Zalgiris and FC Barcelona. The 27-year-old forward was on an expiring deal with the Catalans.

He averaged 4.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists through 37 EuroLeague games helping the Spanish giants to reach the final phase of the competition in Belgrade last May, which was the second consecutive appearance in the Final-4.

He amped up his numbers in the ACB putting up averages of  5.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.9 PIR through 40 games. Fenerbahce’s projected big men lineup includes Nemanja Bjelica, Devin Booker, Johnathan Motley and Tonye Jekiri.

Hayes-Davis will come to bolster the Fenerbahce roster next season under Dimitris Itoudis, who was appointed as the new head coach last month. Fener will hope to return to the EuroLeague playoffs next season after missing the postseason last year.

Panathinaikos targeting Giorgos Kalaitzakis

After the departure of Ioannis Papapetrou, Panathinaikos is targeting guard Giorgos Kalaitzakis, per Eurohoops. He appeared in the NBA and the G League with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Oklahoma City Thunder last season.

Giorgos Kalaitzakis left Panathinaikos last summer and played in the NBA, initially for the Milwaukee Bucks and then for the Oklahoma City Thunder. While remaining in the NBA is still a priority, Pana might offer a bigger role to Kalaitzakis.

Panathinaikos has already signed his twin brother Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, however, Giorgos is considered a much-more EuroLeague-ready player than his brother.
