NBA rumors: Heat need to engage a 3rd team in trade talks for Donovan Mitchell

The Miami Heat need to engage a third team in trade talks for Donovan Mitchell, per Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake Tribune.

Even though Miami recently constructed a trade package for the All-Star guard, the Utah Jazz turned it down as ‘insufficient’.

“They’ve asked the Heat to engage a third team if they’re interested in Donovan, because they don’t find the packages the Heat can offer sufficient,” Larsen tweeted.

At the moment, the New York Knicks are the favorite to land Donovan Mitchell, as they have several first-round picks and players that can send to Utah and complete the deal.

Donovan Mitchell joined Utah in 2017 and has been the Jazz’s leader since 2019. Last season, he averaged 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
