JaMychal Green will join the Golden State Warriors after finalizing a buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Shams Charania reports. Green faced the Warriors in the playoffs last season as a member of the Denver Nuggets.

Green was in the final year of his contract for $8.2 million. He was traded to OKC last month in a deal that gave the Nuggets the No. 30 pick. The Warriors will gain an eight-year NBA veteran.

He averaged 16 minutes, 6.4 points and 4.2 rebounds for the Nuggets off the bench last season. Green adds more depth to a Warriors frontcourt that has lost Juan Toscano-Anderson in free agency and Nemanja Bjelica to join Turkish champion Fenerbache.

Golden State’s frontcourt looks like it’s still in good shape, though, with the returns of starters Draymond Green and Kevon Looney alongside potential superstar Jonathan Kuminga off the bench.

That’s all in addition to center James Wiseman, who is returning from a torn meniscus that has kept him out since April 2021. Ultimately, Green should provide quality minutes off the bench for the Dubs as they tweak their roster for the 2022-23 season.
