AS Monaco Basket forward Alpha Diallo signed a new three-year deal with the club, the Monegasques announced Wednesday. Diallo was part of the team that made the EuroLeague playoffs for the first time in the club’s history.
Diallo was a two-way presence for Sasa Obradovic’s squad and put up 9.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals through 34 EuroLeague games. After four years in Providence, the 25-year-old started his career overseas.

He started his career with Lavrio in Greek Basket League and jumped to the EuroCup winners last summer. In French Pro A, Diallo helped his team reach the league finals, where the Roca Team lost the trophy in a close-fought five-game battle.
The guard/forward appeared in 24 games in the regular season and averaged 11.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. He had 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assist on 39 percent shooting from three in the playoffs last season.
“My choice to continue my career in Monaco is based on the desire to be competitive and to win titles in the French league but also in the Euroleague. I think Monaco have a great chance of fighting for these titles, and that’s why I signed again.
Also, the goal will be to improve the team, be there with each other, and keep fighting for the trophy,” Diallo stated after signing his contract with Monaco.
Monaco has already added four new players in Elie Ekobo, Jaron Blossomgame, Jordan Loyd and John Brown III. At the same time, they retained Mike James and Donta Hall.
