The Serbian guard was seriously considering a move to the NBA, but he eventually decided to stay in Europe, as his buyout deadline expired on Wednesday.
Micic didn’t want to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who hold his rights in the league, and wanted to join a contender. However, he never received any lucrative offers and no deal was made.
With Vasilije Micic in the lineup, Anadolu Efes has significantly bolstered its roster and will start the new EuroLeague season as the grand favorite.
The back-to-back EuroLeague champions have signed Will Clyburn, Amath M’Baye, Ante Zizic and Achille Polonara so far, while re-signing superstar guard Shane Larkin and Bryant Dunston.
