Donovan Mitchell would welcome a move to Knicks; he is not ‘forcing his way out’ of Utah

Donovan Mitchell has been in the center of trade talks recently, with the New York Knicks emerging as a favorite to land him.

The superstar guard of the Utah Jazz has not requested a trade, however he knows he could be moved soon. In that case, he prefers to join the Knicks and not the Miami Heat, who have also emerged as a trade destination.

“Donovan [Mitchell] is not forcing his way out. But I think we all understand that his strong preference would be to go ahead and get traded to New York,” Tim MacMahon of ESPN reports.

So far, the Jazz have engaged in talks with both the Knicks and the Heat. Yet, their trade demands make things difficult and a deal may not take place soon.

Donovan Mitchell still has four years and $134,8M left in his current contract with the Utah Jazz.
